Re: VLC playing 1080 HD YouTube videos at 640

I upgraded to the latest nightly. It's now playing 720. Still not 1080, but it's miles better than a 1080 video playing at 640. And without changing a single setting after having it play 720 for a while, it suddenly has dropped to 640 again after pausing a video. Tried a restart and a different vide...

Re: VLC playing 1080 HD YouTube videos at 640

First thing I did. It's not working.

I can try reverting back to the non-nightly VLC, if that might help.

VLC playing 1080 HD YouTube videos at 640

YouTube has recently undergone a lot of redesign craziness, which means I'm looking for a new way to access my playlists. Several have thousands of vids, which are impossible to load with the new laggy, oversized design that causes Firefox to send up constant pop-up messages about browser slowdown t...

Re: always on top fail

This issue is absolutely killing me. It's intermittent. Sometimes when I dump everything in the %appdata% art folder, I can get the always on top to work again, but other times even that fails. I've read that reenabling the feature in the preferences using Run as administrator helps to make it stick...

Discolored VLC Snaps - Pinker and Darker

Every time I take a VLC snap, it comes out pinker (very noticeable in skin tones and lips get very red) and quite a bit darker. This has rendered the feature nearly unusable for quite some time now. It might be a codec issue, but I'm at a loss as to what has been changed. This used to work just fine...

Re: Snapshot display ratio

And I just had this same exact issue with .mp4 files of recorded television made with FilmOn.com that records widescreen at 720x480, but displays 16:9... And once again, we have the problem that VLC's snapshot function doesn't snap the correct display ratio that actually displays correctly in the pl...

Re: Snapshot display ratio

Anyone know what's going on? Please? This is what's going on: Should look like this and displays at this ratio within the player itself (.mkvs ripped at the original 720x480 NTSC DVD ratio which properly display at 720x540 and 853x480 respectively): http://i62.tinypic.com/ih2t5y.png http://i57.tinyp...

Re: Snapshot display ratio

Oh, and I'm using the latest nightly build due to said 2.1.5 issue. Forgot to mention that.

Snapshot display ratio

Some videos, particularly in the .mkv format, will sometimes have a different aspect ratio between the file ratio (when it is not resized from the DVD source when ripped) and the display ratio it's meant to be seen in. VLC player always used to take snapshots in the display ratio, but lately it appe...
