Yes please bring back the midi support! I was very pleased that I could download the proper package in Ubuntu to get midi support, but there's nothing I can do on windows. Just wanted to update this. I'm on VLC 2.1.5 on Windows and there is still no FluidSynth codec under Audio Codecs. This is disappointing...
