I confirm the problem with SSA subtitle (containing positioning information) the text is crappy, overlapping and in the middle of the screen. Whereas, if I play it with mplayer2 (the wonderfull windows media player) with vobsub (ver. > 2.23) it plays fine (a bit small but I know how to change this) ...
