4) If I play a DVD or video file, and I play frame to frame (press repeatedly shortcut e), after a while the image freezes. Same experience , but also at playing any kind of video files . Quick solution is hitting Space twice (and fast, if we don't want to go far from that moment), then we can step...

Guys, I tested it with VLC for Windows, and there is no problem. It seems this issue is limited to the OS X version.

Hi! VLC v2.1.4 Intel Mac 64bit, OS X 10.9.3 I want to stream MKVs from my NAS but playback has "stuttering effect", which means it stops for seconds and stream falls apart (into gray rectangulars, you know). I tried to copy the MKV file to a local drive, and it has needed only some minutes...
