VLC used to be epic, now not so much.

VLC was once the best in class. Not only was it a great piece of legacy software, the Android team were so passionate that they took that reputation and all the expectations that go along with it and exceeded it. But as time has gone on, it's just started to languish. If you attempt to rewind a few ...

Re: Incorrectly Rotated Videos

Yes, I saw the post.

Please keep in mind that many developers are people who do this in their spare time.
My apologies. Just to verify, this is fixed in 1.1.3

Re: Incorrectly Rotated Videos

That is weird indeed.

It works fine on our testing devices...

Maybe if you upload a problematic sample we can look into it.
Hi did you miss the examples? You kinda just went silent.

This isn't just one or two videos, it's all videos whereby it's filmed vertically, no matter what, VLC assumes it's filmed properly (horizontally): https://www.dropbox.com/s/e...

Re: Incorrectly Rotated Videos

My apologies if it came across as being insulting. VLC on Android uses the phone's rotation setting as its rotation setting if the rotation is set to Automatic. It's a bit different from Windows where usually the display cannot be rotated. But the point here is that of the three video players on my...

Re: Incorrectly Rotated Videos

You can rotate your phone to rotate the video, or set a rotation in preferences.
That's simply insulting. Other video players from development houses not renowned for video playback software get it right, VLC has no excuse and should do better.

[Solved] Incorrectly Rotated Videos

Something I see quite regularly with VLC is that Videos are rotated incorrectly where as the stock video player or something Cyanogen's GalleryNext will have videos orientated correctly.

Re: Remote Screenshot Capture

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I'll re-explain and hopefully my answer will cover it. From VLC itself, you can take a screenshot. However from a remote app ( Remoti.co OR VLC Direct Pro ) you can't take a screenshot. Media Player Classic Home Cinema allows for you to take a screenshot while u...

Remote Screenshot Capture

VLC allows users to capture a screenshot of whatever is playing, but the API apparently doesn't allow remote services to do so like MPC-HC allows. Any chance of opening this up?

Re: Flowplayer, 200 Stream not found

Don't use vcodec=mp1v but a more recent codec.
Where is this option? And why does it work perfectly streaming to an app on my phone but I receive this error via a web browser? Also why can't I simply stream from one VLC to another?
