Ok this has resolved the problem.

Just upgraded. And rebooted the iPad. No change. I have 6 episoded of a children's cartoon (5 of which my kids have watched). No audio at all on the 5 anymore. The 6th which was still new to VLC has audio and is fine.
iPad Air, wifi, 16gb, ios 7.0.4.
Episodes synched with iTunes.

iOS 7.0.4 vlc 2.2.2 will watch an episode or movie works just fine. Image and audio are fine. After a while when I return to a movie that has either been completely or partially watched the audio no longer functions. Earphones do not output sound either. If I go to a file that has not yet been watch...
