I think I may have figured out a solution (fingers crossed), I updated my Intel Rapid Storage Management drivers with the latest one and the problem seems to have gone away! For now atleast!

Just to chime in, this exact problem is happening to me too (using a Windows 8.1 laptop) - I never had any issues with Win 7, and have tried everything under the sun, I suspect there is some sort of incompatibility with Win 8.1 in general

I am having this problem as well, I have Windows 8.1, the renderer is using Intel HD 4000 graphics... The video frame will freeze for about 2 seconds but the sound will continue as normal.... It seems to happen at random but usually happens after a few minutes or so of playing the video. Here is som...
