You have to set "Tools" then "Messages"
A Message window is display, ignore it, don't close it.
Paste the URL of Youtube et so on ...
If you want to record the stream, VLC will tell you that your file already exist and you choose "Erase" ...
If I set "View" --> "Messages" or "Console" options, it works.
VLC tells me that my output file allready exist, even if it is a new file. I answer "Erase" and it's ok !
I have the last VLC version at this date (2.1.2). I already recorded Youtube video's one year ago without problem, with an older version (I don't remember) Today, when I try to record a Youtube clip, in a non-existing file, nothing run. If I set view --> Add Interface --> Console to see what happens...
