Turns out that I installed AMDGPU-PRO proprietary drivers along with the AMDGPU proprietary drivers. I don't have a pro video card, so the AMDGPU-PRO proprietary drivers were causing errors. I deleted the AMDGPU-PRO proprietary drivers and rebooted. Yahoo! VLC plays normally now

I updated to OpenSuSE 15.1 yesterday and since then, VLC won't play a file without first closing unexpectedly or erroring out. I can open the VLC window, but when I select a file and start it, it appears as if it will start, but suddenly I'm at the KDE login screen. It either logged me off of KDE or crashed X. Please help.
