Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

If it is the same problem as mine, try creating a new folder on the card and transfer a couple of videos to it. See if Vlc recognises them ok. If so transfer the rest over and delete the old folder. It seems that it was the folder that went funny on my card.

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

I seem to have resolved this problem - sort of. I wondered if VLC might be struggling with the number of videos on my SD Card, so I moved some of them into a new folder on the SD card. When I went into preferences and selected that new folder they all appeared when I went back into the Video tab! So...

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

Ok I have uninstalled vlc, then installed the latest one from the link you gave me. I have then gone into preferences/directories and selected the folder from my external sd card and refreshed (still not working). Then dumped logcat. I have then opened the logcat file in OI notebook, selected all, c...

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

Ok I have done that. I can find the log on my tablet but how do I get it to you. My device says I can't open it -"no apps can perform this action", and I can't see how to attach a file to this post.

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

I did the same as last time: preferences, Advanced debugging, then Debug logs. Pressed on start, went and replicated the problem and then stopped the log. Pasted what was shown. There was no logcat / log messages option. I am using the nightly build. I don't know it is different to the one I posted ...

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

Hi Edward No, I don't think so. With my problem, the files can be read by VLC - if I click on Directories from the left hand menu, the extSDCard appears and I can access the videos there. The problem is that if I click on Video from the left hand menu, it says no media files found, even if I have go...

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

I still have this problem - does anyone have any ideas? I have tried deleting one of my movies off the external SD card via my PC today then copying it back on, to see if that made any difference - it didn't. Would really appreciate any help with this

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

Sorry still not sure what you mean by refresh. I went into preferences just now and unticked the sd card completely. Closed the app fully. Opened it again then went into preferences and ticked the sd card. Went back into the Video option and it just contained one video that I had made on my tablet. ...

Re: Files on external SD card not recognised

From the main screen I have four options down the side: Video, Audio, Directories, History. When I click in Video I get the No Media message. When I click on Directories I have two options - the internal member (sdcard0) and my sd card (extSdCard). If I click on the SD Card I can then choose the fol...
