Much thanks. I stumbled across VLC while looking for an alternative to Microsoft's Media Player. I'm not a sophisticated user. Just wanted something simple with a small footprint for playing MP3s and an occasional video.

I was stunned to see that the VLC icon on the player interface changed to a Christmas symbol. The icon also shows up in the minimized tray. You may think it is cute to have the VLC icon wear a Santa Claus hat. Enjoy your Christmas holidays, but please don't build religious imagery into a software ap...
