when I try to play a movie, the sound always comes before the picture

I always get this message:
ffmpeg: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)

has anyone else gotten this problem?
I usually run .avi files, does that have anything to do with it?

Any chance you could while the file is open goto " Window > Information > Advanced Information > Stream 0" and tell us what codec it uses? I tried several of my .avi's and they all work with different codecs even. I'm running DIVX for a codec I'm getting the same problem as everyone else,...
