Quite strange as I restarted my system, the problem is gone.

Bump. I use Synology NAS and have a similar issue. VLC randomly stops while playing, and after 3-5 seconds, the audio comes back but video keeps stopped. Other player like Movist or MplayerX never has such problem. Plus, I have a 802.11ac wireless network, it's pretty fast so it couldn't be network ...
