This happened to me in 3.0.7 with automatic rendering. It also wasn't showing the OSD in full screen.

Upgraded the problem. Now the line is solid and there's a strange "film guide" thing going on in the upper right. These things appear in all frames.

You could just say "not allowed" if not possible with that format.

and when I try to report the crash, it doesn't send! Versions, a whole bunch, like the newest one and the last several before that.

In the new VLC version, the cone "album art" fades in. This is dumb, not what VLC needed (I was actually hoping it would play a file it was not playing correctly before I updated, but it does not). Anyway, the animation is currently making my blood boil and it must go away. But how?
