I'm still having the same issue with the latest update. Just like you, I have to quit the program and restart to get the video playing again and find where I left off viewing.

Mine also "hung" on the "Restart and Install" screen, but I quit the program manually, and it had installed correctly.

I can verify that this is still an issue on the latest update, 2.1.1

The first issue is that when you "minimize" the player, it can not be restored. This issue has also been mentioned in the thread "floating window problem with Mavericks", however, it may have been missed or misunderstood due to the OP talking about full-screen mode ... this probl...
