Hi, VLC is unable to play any audio (except Mpeg2 and files with audio mp3 only), regardless if speakers or headphones. Never happened in the past. with 2.2.0 the crash happened just by clicking on Set associations.
now with 2.2.1 it happens only when I change some associations, clicking on botton Save (see photo above), and then I close vlc and I go the crash.
therefore I said that 2.2.1 *partially* solved the issue.

I am speeching about H/W acceleration. here Nvidia replies: The GeForce GTX 650 with its VP5 video decoder is capable of up to decoding H.264 with a resolution of up to 4032 × 4080. Hi, why if I open this url with vlc rtsptext rtsp://212.77.7.148:80/h264lan.sdp (or a file mp3) with USB headphones connected, the OS audio (windows mail, browser, flash...) doesnt work, but if I press Stop in VLC (without closing it), the OS audio is working again?? its normal behaviour? ok, with 2.1.2 only 2 seconds to open the application.
3,5 sec.to open a video file. good.

Hi rs1001, sorry if I ask to you, since I have difficulties to explain this to the developers since a month: if you set the volume at the maximun level available, what percentage do you obtain? thanks a lot for verifying. I verified the mkv's playback (sd and hd1080) it seems to work as in the past....
