Re: Changing the default OSD position

It seems OSD position isn't the only thing it won't remember. Every time I launch it, I open preferences and set my preferred subtitles language to "English". Every time I open it, the setting has been forgotten and the box is blank again. I have tried using cleanapp to remove it entirely,...

Changing the default OSD position

I'm using VLC 1.0.3 32bit Intel on my iMac 24" running 10.6.2. When I start full screen mode, the OSD always appears in the middle horizontally, but about 1/4 of the way up vertically. This irritates me, because it means every time I watch something I have to move it down to the bottom, where I...

When I run VLC in full screen mode, the full screen control bar shows split between the two displays even though the plays is only on one display. Does anyone know how I can make it so...

Thanks for the help :D

No, I hadn't done a reboot at all. To be honest I never really try that - this machine has been up for 30 days and 20 hours :P

Trying that now and ending my record uptime.

Thanks for the response.

As I said in my initial post I was using 0.8.4, but I'm on the latest one now. I'm trying your suggestion now.

Edit: I deleted this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<MyName>\Application Data\VLC

...but the problem continues.

Nothing playing, tried reinstalling + newer version

Earlier today I was watching a video on VLC 0.8.4 when it suddenly froze. I don't remember having done anything, I was sat away from the machine. It was a DivX .avi. I quit, and when I started it up again it just wouldn't play anything. It had the pause button showing (meaning it was in the playing ...
