Re: Timestamp in filename of autom. caps

Thanks! Uhm ok, it's basically the same name as before. And I'm beginning to suspect it's not the right command because the files names are scene$T00001.png, scene$T00013.png, etc instead of IMG-xxxxxx.png This is what I have for the scene filter. It's as if the two commands get mixed up, the 'scene...

Re: Timestamp in filename of autom. caps

Like this?

Code: Select all

vlc --video-filter="scene" --scene-prefix="IMG-$T" -vvv dummy
It gives me this error. :(

Timestamp in filename of autom. caps

I'm using vlc to automatically take screencaps every x frames. This is the basic code but I want to change the filename so that it has a timestamp. i.e. IMG-hour.minute.second.png I read about format strings so I tried: vlc --video-filter="scene" --scene-prefix="IMG-$T" -V dummy ...

Re: Scene filter gui

What do you mean with first box? I put 'scene' where it says Video output filter mode, the other is Video filter mode and like I said it won't work either way.

Re: Assertion failed

The same happens with the lastest stable version, it's one of the reasons why I upgraded. :)

Assertion failed

http://imgur.com/4K9VS.jpg Does anyone know what this message means? I searched the forums and there are a few similar ones but not this exact one (misc/picture_pool.c). It happened while I was trying to take screencaps from a mkv file right after I started playing it. Most importantly, how can I f...

Re: Scene filter gui

I saw that the scene filter is under Video > output modules > scene filter but I don't know how to select it :) Hey thanks, I know. It's there but if I click on it it's just a list of options to configure the filter(image name, path, filetype, etc). Even after I configured it, if I start vlc, it ju...

Re: Scene filter gui

Uhm, it's not there either. I even upgraded to v1.2 git, the same one you're using but I don't have scene as an option:

Re: Scene filter gui

Thank for the reply j-b but I don't think I have that in my setup. I'm using v. 1.1.4. See:

Scene filter gui

I know that 'image output' is now the scene filter and I read this topic so I know how to take caps via the command line. I was wondering how do you do that with the vlc GUI, though. I saw that the scene filter is under Video > output modules > scene filter but I don't know how to select it, I mean ...

Re: mkv and automated screencaps

Weird as the overlay is supposed to speed up things. How did disabling the overlay solve your problem ? I have no idea but it works, at least I can play it. If the overlay is enabled the video is pixelated, out of synch and most of the times it freezes between scenes. This only happens with large m...

mkv and automated screencaps

I've been using vlc to take automated screencaps for quite some time now and I dind't have any problems until I decided to use it with mkv files (720p.HDTV.X264) First off, when I tried to play the file the playback was dead slow, the video was full of artifacts and the audio was out of synch so obv...

Snapshots prefix and numbering

Hi! I was unsuccessfully trying to change the prefix name and the numbering system of the snapshots. I did a little search and I found this topic but whenever I change the prefix through the prefs, then VLC won't save my caps anymore. So I tried using the command line as well but with no avail. This...
