iPhone5 iOS 6.1.4 not jailbroken. I can stream video from the device via airplay, just not through vlc 2.0.2

So I've the vlc iOS app. The current iteration broke video streaming so from the iTunes store I press the report issue button. Which brings me to this site with about 17 different options to report an issue and every single one is a dead end or I have to register. WTF?! I don't want to register, I j...

Airplay was previously working (but sound wasn't) but with the latest release of iOS app 2.0.2 only audio is working, not video.
