To be fair, the issue is not that ColorSync support is not possible. It's that nobody ever implemented, because it is hard to do in an OpenGL rendering context. This is also true for supposedly open platforms such as Linux or BSD. can be use 3d lut tables. as in davinci resolve. I do so. 3d lut tab...

left to Gentoo Linux and win7. use media player classic+cccp. mpc can use windows color management etc.
OS X is very proprietary one.

How do you set the calibration? Just set color profile (in system preferences>monitor>color) after creating profile in i1 profiler. How did I create profile? - Buy x-rite i1 display colorimeter, install x-rite app that was with that dev, restart system, launch profiler, set gamma, temperature, ligh...

I conform colors that vlc is showing with QuickTime X.

QuickTime showing a natural colors and vlc show very saturated one. Why?
