How is this still a problem 10 years later... making a preference for this cant be that difficult - I just want the window to get focus when I start a new video..... is it really too difficult to get a preference for this?

yes, BUT it doesn't save ANY of the setting, it ONLY saves the fact that it is direct show and I don't know the coding to make it anymore detailed. when viewed as a text file it looks like this: #EXTM3U dshow:// there is nothing else in the file.
