Re: Help with wedding video please

Try Perian . It is a plug-in for Quicktime it alows Quicktime to play almost the same amount of codecs as VLC. Lately I have been having better results with Perian then with VLC. As for what you are trying to do you need a program to allow you to reencode that video file to a DVD format like VOB. An...

I get this problem when I try to watch certain anime encodes. The problem always seems to be that the file, usually an .avi file type, has an embedded WMV video codec. I can get sound through VLC player fine though. The funny thing is that I can see video with no sound on Quicktime, and sound with ...

The only thing I can recommend is the mpeg speed up other then that, time to upgrade. The higher quality the video the more it's go...

Any chance you could while the file is open goto " Window > Information > Advanced Information > Stream 0" and tell us what codec it uses? I tried several of my .avi's and they all work with different codecs even.

Re: i can't play dvd because of region code

hi i have this problem with the player. VLC's supposed to play DVDs regardless of region codes, but mine simply can't! i'm using a Mac OS X 10.4.7. can someone please help???
It's probably not VLC but rather your DVD player in your computer. Just rip the dvd with MacTheRipper. Hope this helps.

They are suppose to disappear. There is currently a ticket in the Trac system for this to allow them to stay there while paused. You will have to wait and see if someone closes the ticket for 0.8.6 if not at a later build.

Depends if its a Xvid could be bad encoding of the video. DVD could be bad encoding again(rare however possible), scratches on the DVD or your processor can't keep up(highly doubtful if its pixelating). It all could be bad encodings of the video part of the files but if you suspect not to be the fil...

Video codecs are about a fourth of the way down and Audio codecs are about 3/4'ths the way down. Hope this helps you.
