I have some files in my playlist that don't have audio and it would be very nice to select my soundcards input for those items.

I had a similar issue when vlc would go between certain file types. In my case I was using .vob files and .mpeg files. I used FFMPEG to transcode the mpeg files to .vob's and all was well.

Is it possible to specify an audio source ie *.mp3 or /dev/dsp that changes for different playlist items?

I'm trying to play files that contain audio with files that don't. For the files that don't have audio I'd like to specify an external audio source.

I'd really appreciate any help!
