Re: VLC for linux will support lossless format mp3HD?

Flac is a great format, but how many generic portable devices support Flac and how many support mp3? Precisely therein lies the strength of the format in its popularity with makers of players.

Re: VLC for linux will support lossless format mp3HD?

The biggest advantage for me is not having to have duplicate files. All my classical music files are in lossless, flac, alac, ape, etc ... But I also have to mp3 for portable players and mobile. VLC play with quality lossless mp3HD format

I wish VLC play with quality lossless mp3HD format. So I could have a single file lossless that plays on all my devices. Today I have to FLAC, ALAC, APE, etc. for notebook and pc but mp3 for devices.

When playing back files mp3HD in VLC recognizes only the lossy quality 320, 256 or 128.
