Re: No metadata in android client?

I see this merge request. Has that merge landed in the beta client?

Play/Pause behavior when receiving stream

So these things have been a small annoyance for some time, but I'm not sure who's fault it is and I am sure that blaming anyone is inappropriate. :) I use icecast2 to make an ogg stream that my phone can receive so I can hear my music in the car. Naturally the audio comes from 4G, through VLC, and o...

No metadata in android client?

On VLC for Mac 3.0.11.1 , my icecast2 ogg stream displays desired metadata (i.e. artist/title) in the title bar and in the playlist entry. Metadata is updated on each song change as you would expect. On VLC for Android 3.3.1, the same stream only displays metadata when you create a playlist entry fo...

Re: Need help with complex streaming setup

Is there any way to cause each machine to be in sync? Such as tuning the buffer sizes or using the 'clock synchronization' preferences?

Re: Need help with complex streaming setup

After thinking about this a bit, the statement "the sound will not be in sync in the first place" makes no sense to me. If I have one VLC multicasting an RTP stream, and K VLCs (where K is an integer greater than 2) on K different machines listening to the same multicast stream on the same...

Re: Need help with complex streaming setup

The sound will not be in sync in the first place, so the question makes no sense. In an RTP stream, I believe my stream source is multicasting UDP packets to subscribed machines. If I have two of these subscribed machines running VLC listening to the same RTP stream (which is multicasted) on the sa...

Re: Need help with complex streaming setup

The Windows box has been misconfigured. Reset the preferences.
That worked! Thanks. :D

If I have two VLC listening to the same stream on the same switch but different OS, will the sound remain in sync?

Need help with complex streaming setup

So I've been streaming a personal playlist for some time, and I'm trying to improve my vlm-fu and save some network bandwidth. I keep running into little problems that I can't seem to solve, despite googling. (Please keep in mind that search results vary by user, so telling me to google X may not wo...

VLM - Streaming a playlist

Hello. I'm trying to stream a playlist to a remote computer while it is playing on the local computer. As a test, I used two computers on the same LAN to eliminate router issues et. al. Here's the command line I eventually came to: vlc -v ~/playlist.m3u --sout '#duplicate{dst=http{mux=ffmpeg{mux=flv...
