if your using something like arts or esd it shouldn't be an issue. If you're using alsa directly, you have to tweak it a bit so that it does the mixing from different audio sources. Hi vlc gurus ! Is it possible to launch multiple instances of vlc on different urls ? I need an ambience sound like sea and other evenmential sounds as any noise on the beach :D The sequential playlist is not adapted to do these audio effects. I have objserved that vlc and mpg123 can be mixed but no...

Add vlc:quit after your last playlist item / at the end of your command-line and VLC quit after playing all items. Thanks a lot for your prompt answer, that's work ! An other stupid question : how to suppress diagnostic messages ? I have not seen any --quiet or --silent options Thanks again Philippe

vlc in command line never quits

Hello everybody,

I need to run vlc (0.8.5) in command line with an url argument.
Vlc works, but it never quits. I am obliged to kill it by a ^C.

Is there an another manner, without any interface, to do that properly ?
