Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

The two most recent builds for windows, trunk-20080403-0003 and trunk-20080403-0909, can not be launched from file association. None of the context menu options work either (add to playlist, etc). The build before them seems to be fine. Also, with the last several builds, I have gotten a runtime iss...

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

So I'm surprised I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but to me, one of the biggest bugs in the nightlies is that if you watch a video in full screen, the interface does not come back when it stops, weather it reaches the end of the file or if you stop it manually. This isn't the intentional behavior,...

Re: Nightly Builds - Bugs and Fixes

Confirm that here too. I wanted to add that if you proceed with repairing, nothing will happen. I.e. progressbar doesn't move on. Then, in backgorund, it plays for some seconds, 11 or so, and then says it cannot read the file. Same happens if you simply check not to repair the file. I've been using...

Bug report, though a bit different.

I ordered a VideoLan T-shirt a while ago. So did my friend. He recently pointed out to me that on the front of the tshirt there is a problem. Next to "Get VLC" the website is listed. Except it does not say videolan.org. It says Videoland.org. Videoland is not associated with you guys, best...

Deleting the last item in the playlist still deletes the whole playlist, and now files can not be added by dragging and dropping. Also, some keyboard shortcuts seem to have stopped working (The delete key no longer removes items from the playlist) Also, right click functionality seems to fail after ...

Various DivX version have a lot more to do with encoding than with decoding.

There should be minimal effect on playback/decoding from one encoder to the next, since its all mpg4.

Bug report: In the playlist, it is not possible to delete multiple files at once by selecting them (or by any other meathod that I know of) Deleting the last playlist entry (regardless of what you have selected) deletes the entire list. I am running WinXP SP2, and I dont really know if this extends ...

Playlist bug

In the new playlist there is a bug.
If you select multiple files and hit delete, only one file is removed.
If you select only the last file and hit delete, the entire playlist is destroyed.

Would it be difficult or impractical to 'cheat' on boardered subtitles?
By this I mean that you could simply double render the fonts once in black, and a second time, smaller, and in white.

Not sure of how well that would work, but it sounds like a possible temporary solution.

I don't know how mirc handles this ... but i've already added a "Now playing..." msn plugin in the dev version. If people want to add support for other functions, feel free to look at modules/misc/msn.c . Is there a good chance that this could be extended to dump now playing info into a t...

I was thinking maybe they could give us a cheap solution to this for now by double rendering the subtitles. Shouldn't it be pretty easy to do the subtitles in black, then again in white in a smaller font on top of that? Might not be the prettiest solution, but it seems like a simple temporary fix.

Any suggestions then?

Is this something I could possibly fix on my end with tweaking the graphics settings?

Is this something I should expect to see working in a nightly build, or should I just stick with .8.2-test3?

Do you have an alternate suggestion for my video display?

vlc 0.8.2 fails at OpenGL output

In the final .8.2 version of VLC, OpenGL support is unusable. In .8.2-test3, it was fine. I have my computer set up with one moniter and the output mirrored on a tv screen. With DirectX, video will only play on one screen at a time, so I use OpenGL. I tried GDI, but wasnt very happy with it. Right n...
