I used that plugin too. And should you switch from 32 to 64 bit and forget the plugin, your vlc will probably crash, like mine. If one can change the Audio device in the Gui, this should work: Find vlcrc as stated above (search for vlcrc in your user dir). Change to Device1 in the Gui. Save Changes. Copy vlcrc somewhere.
