Chrome OS 71 - VLC 3.0.13 - No audio through HDMI

Hey I think this started happening on Chrome OS 71 When you play media on VLC 3.0.13 Android App and you connect the Chrome OS Device (Acer R13) to a TV via HDMI the audio is not being passed through. Any update on this. I want to be able to stream some .avi to chromecast through the chrome tab and would love this to be working
