because this is not the same issue.
Well, it fits the description of the OP, which seems to still have the issue. I suppose it is happening only on OS X, but doesn't it need to be addressed?

EDIT: I can try to help investigating this issue, although I am not a VLC developer.

The issue is still there in 2.0.6 using OS X 10.6.8. :( M4A audio suddenly starts to sound noisy/scratchy for a while and then it goes back to normal. When this happens I get the following in the log: audio output out of sync, adjusting dates (-40001 us) not synchronized (-40001 us), resampling buff...

do the 4 others of you that still notice the problem want to check the recent nightlies (vlc-2.0.5-20121212-0203) to see if that fixes the problem for you like it did for xplo?
