This is the issue: You CAN'T effectively remove all phase issues ordinarily associated with crossover filters. By nature of the filter you will introduce phase error! Correct again. Agreed again, while underlining the ordinarily . I.e. not in this case . Unless you are trying to tell me that splitt...

Nope, there is no such functionality, you will have to build it yourself. Also 'keep stream open' will probably not work, VLC currently has no features that detect that it is actually 'doing nothing'. (check http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=23896 for a related problem) You would need to bui...

Not to rain on your parade! But in recent years real professionals have been moving away from bi-amped or try-amped systems. In a good environment the associated filters, crossovers and the amplifiers themselves offer to much phase shift to create an accurate sound stage. Even thought time alignmen...

Move the man to Hawaii and he will never freeze to death. Stop sending people to Siberia or starting new wars in the world. I could go on here but this is a VLC forum. :P Well if we can figure out world peace by playing video, I'm all for it! There are a couple of Preferences switches that will hel...

This problem (in general) means that the server has a stream descriptor file, but the actual data stream (an encoder, for example) is disconnected.

Essentially it's not vlc's fault I think.

If guest's theory is true, turn down the output volume of VLC.. if that helps (just increase volume on your amplifier to compensate) then it is an output clipping problem. Are you using any equaliser settings (like 'bass boost') somewhere?

Big problem with VLC.. and an easy fix?

Short version: - Right now, under certain, often-occuring conditions, VLC will simply stop playing/encoding/transcoding video. Fairly easily reproducable. - Also, while I have no insight in the complexities of VLC, and I am not a coder, I think that a 'quick and dirty' fix that will at least IMPROVE...

Well the generic idea is that a purist would want to split the signal at the best place. Best place is the earliest place. Earliest place is inside VLC, preferrably even inside the audio decoding algorythms. Anyway for me personally Ive recently bought a 1-way speaker system instead of the 2-way thi...

Bi-amping support for VLC

Well, for the audiophiles amongst you, the request can completely inferred from the subject. The short version is: - I want VLC to output the low-frequency components of the output sound to be sent to 'line out channel 1' and the mid- and high-frequency components of the output sound to 'line out ch...
