Anyway, Here's a tool that'll convert google video to AVI. You can even download the source (not really needed though, it's .NET so you might as well decompile it ).
.viv files are VivoActive files. I think it's a format that has been used a couple of years ago on the internet for streaming. It's very uncommon by now, but every now and then I still run into these files. It seems that the company that orginally invented it, has been bought by Real. And unfortunat...
I think that's what Windows MCE 2005 does when you choose "cinema zoom" or whatever it's called. It's not the outer 50% that gets stretched, it's more like the edges are stretched to the max, while decreasing the amount stretch while going towards the center.
I'd also be nice if more actions could be added. For instance, I'm missing the half/normal/double size to assign hotkeys to. Almost all other players assign them Ctrl+1-3 or Alt+1-3, so I was a little surprized to see that doesn't work and is not configurable... Oh and, alternative hotkeys for one a...

One might want the mousewheel to alter the size of the video window, another might want to to control audio volume. But on the seek slider, the mouse wheel might do seeking (it already does...
Just a little bug, if there's another file with the same name in the directory where the video is, an "error" occurs. This file might be "Video.txt" with a description of what it is, and a "Video.avi" which is the actual video. I'm not sure what VLC tries with this text...
I have this Quicktime movie and when I open it, VLC opens a smaller and a bigger video track, but they're both black (or rather, empty). The real video track is also opened and plays fine. Also, these three tracks open in random order. So the real video might be in a separate window, or in the main ...
I found a quicktime movie that seems to pause every few seconds or so. It feels random, so I can't pinpoint when exactly the pauses occur. It shouldn't have anything to do with CPU power, because VLC doesn't peak to 100%, and I tried running it in high priority. The pauses occur always in this video...
