When opening UPnP servers on Windows VLC, you can navigate folders, then double-click to play a video.

On Mac VLC, as soon as you open a UPnP server or any folder within it, the first video automatically plays no matter what. I've found no way to turn this off and it's incredibly annoying.

I'm aware that 360 video in VLC 3 is new and I guess still in beta, so I'm hoping this is just a temporary glitches or I'm doing something wrong? For other who may like to know, I was able to get a YouTube 360 video I downloaded to work with VLC 3.0 by using a tool called Spatial Media Metadata Injector. I opened the video with the app, then picked "My video i spherical (360) and saved the video. It then worked in VLC.

Use the tool to inject metadata.

Is there any hope of ever seeing video and sound instead of static thumbnails for this? Is there something that Apple has done to make this completely impossible?

I saw where you mentioned on Hacker News ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9120889 ) that you worked on something like this in the past and it was relatively easy to renew. Are you going to release this soon or will someone else work on it? Thank you for VLC!!!

I usually use VLC on my Mac and I use the option "Black screens in Fullscreen mode" in the Video section of the Preferences for VLC. This way my laptop's screen can be dark while playing video on a secondary display. I just tried to find the same option in the latest Windows version of VLC...
