Thanks for the advice. This build works really well! If I force hardware decoding all I get is a black screen, but if I set it back to automatic it works fine (I assume this means it's using software decoding). It's nice to have all the new features like the EQ and etc. so thanks again for the help!...

Best version for my old galaxy tab 7?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Verizon model (sch-i800). It has a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 graphics (don't know the speed). I have a CM7 OS (gingerbread 2.3.7 I think) flashed on it. That might work also, provided I could easily switch between the playlist and the EQ. Tabs just seemed like the natural thing for this. Then again, a mini-EQ docked below the playlist could be good as well :)
