What is the procedure to record it using VLC.

The school is having a live feed of the graduation in Colorado and we will be watching it on the MacBook Pro in California. I was wanting VLC to record the live feed as it was happening to the Mac as a file to be seen later when she gets home. Dave

I'm wanting to use the MacPro Book to record the live feed while the family watches the graduation on my TV thru my windows machine via VGA connection. I'm probably over thinking the process but I don't want to mess it up. I found a video but it was not in english and I could not figure out the butt...
