Re: VLC and audio input

Thank you very much ... it is indeed appearing.

There is also a video capture device appearing but the list is empty ... how does it work / what I need to do to have something appearing here ?

from the command line, this new feature works like a basic playlist ?

Best regards !

Hi, I wanted to know how can we set vlc to capture the microphone of my soundcard and the speaker output ? In case it can help : my objective is to be able to multicast it over my LAN. It does not matter if I need two instances of vlc for it. I have found some poor information about it ... something...

your port 5554 might be used by another instance of vlc or another program. try another port. Meanwhile the ip "10.224.8.149" must be the IP of your server ...... not the client ip. if you put the ip 0.0.0.0 the server will answer in all his interfaces. for running vlc like this : be root,...

I know some filters that might do the trick but they are too heavy to do it in real time ....... your framerate may drop to 2fps ;) or worse considering your computer :) Plus you must know that 120 fps is a little stupid ..... the average human eye does not see the difference between 70 fps and 120f...

Lol

just to understand :

It's the case that someone can take the source, make it proprietary, and support the ape format ? (and so he don't need the conscent of the ape programers)

well it depends on how you define GPL compatible .......

If GPL compatible = GPL licenced so yes it's not compatible .....

I think that the guy precised this just because it's not GPL and he put this just to point out that it can be used with GPLed projects ;) no ?

I'm angry because there is no move of the team on this subject. Plus, there is a lot of proof in this forum for the need of a REAL SUPPORT of vlc under debian.
