Re: VLC TvOS frames dropping

I get your point. But every 4K tv has motion processing put on it and turned on by default. I agree that you dont support third party plugins/softwares. What I am trying to figure out it that playing same files through kodi, or plex or Mrmc with Sync Playback to Display option checked makes the fram...

VLC TvOS frames dropping

Hi When I play movies on Apple TV 4 using VLC and enable motion processing on Samsung TV, I start seeing frames skipping/dropping. But when I turn motion processing off on TV, the stuttering goes away. My movies have either 24 or 23.976 frames per second. Apple TV is currently set at 1080p/60hz. Her...

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

ok, i get what you mean. I agree the the non-native full screen (where vlc does not use a space) is more fluent however I would argue that in the mode, going to full screen is fine, but coming out is very laggy.

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

Ok I have installed the latest update 2.2.1 but the lag in full screen animation still hasn't gone. I have made another screen recording to show you how the animation lags whilst going on cull screen and coming out of it. I have full native full screen option check in preferences. Rest of the applic...

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

I get what you mean and agree with you on this that in 2.2.0 there is no pause while going to full screen and I do like it better this way. However I have a spent hours to do a fresh install to see a smoother animation but no luck. I still find the full screen animation for 2.20 is not as smooth as ...

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

I seriously believe that previously it was much better to use OSX's native full screen behaviour, Just like the other apps. But I am disappointed by the lack of smoothness in new animation. I am attaching three clips taken: vlc 2.1.5: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dn7924hsho9xgge/vlc%202.1.5.mov?dl=0 Sh...

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

Choppy = not smooth I have tried as you suggested to uninstall all vlc players, install 2.2 and then reset preferences, the full screen animation is NOT smooth at all. I am using retina macbook 15 inch with Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB I can see that why it is like this since you have changed the mode bac...

Re: Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

I have tried both, checking on and checking off but it is not smooth. My understanding is that once that option is checked, it uses native OS X full screen animation like the other apps. And it has been the case with previous releases. I have installed v 2.1.5 and I can see the smoothness back again...

Full screen choppiness 2.2.0

I have installed the latest 2.2.0 update but have found that the full screen animation is very choppy as compared to 2.1.5

Is this broken or meant to be like this now?

I have checked the use native full screen but still no use.

Re: stuttering playback vlc 2.0.3 macbook retina ML

Thanks for the tip and sorry for late reply; I have been away. I have tried that it has improved significantly but still not as smooth as you experience in windows. Any other suggestions? I have tried nightly 2.1 which hardware decoding enabled, make playback smooth. When can we expect official rele...

I have the same issue. I have re-downloaded the file several times but in some movies I am still experiencing audio dropouts for a sec or two. Any other solution?

Re: stuttering playback vlc 2.0.3 macbook retina ML

Yes, i was thinking the same about Mac blu ray player, but for somehow it is giving me a little better result than vlc. I am still using vlc because of it other cool features. I have tried what you suggested above but it dosent change anything for me. I have noticed that the nightly builds have hard...

stuttering playback vlc 2.0.3 macbook retina ML

well i have installed vlc player on my macbook pro retina wiht mountain lion 10.8.2. It plays everything i am throwing at it. However, the playback is not as smooth as it used be on windows. I cant say that it stutters or lags, but in other words, its not a very smooth playback. I have compared the ...
