If you already compiled vlc yourself, you should really talk to other devs. Join us on IRC and/or on the vlc-devel mailing list. You don't want to waste your time with Makefile.am and configure.ac at the beginning. A simple "Hello! I already compiled vlc and want to help" and some patience...

This is expected. So far, we only fetch translation/l10n updates for some of the windows builds as well as for some android builds.

This might change at a later time, though.

I would not activate "show stream locally" in that case

Please check that you downloaded vlc from our website.

Some builds fetch transifex data and some don't. If the build fetches the data, it's is done at build time. One example:

Last times (plural is intended) I checked, I found no way to hide the old ones/excluded them from the percentage calculation.

The only way would be deleting the resource, but I am not convinced this would be a good idea, either.
