Just tried the VLC-debug-X86-20120903.apk and it did not start run or leave a logcat.

The Revue hasn't been rooted yet without a hardware hack, and I'm not willing to go there. In Canada where I am the Revue isn't supported so I haven't contacted Logitech. I will try the latest APK and see what my machine gives us.
