Is the TS output from the record option in VLC a screen capture or is VLC recording the stream either networked stream or when making a recording of an MP4/TS/MKV for the purposes of having a video sample? The former would seem to be lower quality than the latter. I use VLC sometimes to watch my IPT...

I see that there is a post about stuttering with .TS files in the Windows forum but can't find anything in the Mac forum.
