The issue is with embedded subtitles.

What kind of video and subtitles files ? MP4 ? MKV ? SRT ? SUB ? etc...

Embedded or external subtitles? - both
Language preference (English) matches. Subtitles not auto-enabled whether only English one embedded or more than one (in addition to English) language embedded.

I have the latest, updated VLC player. OS: Win 11 64-bit (latest updated).
Subtitles are not being auto-loaded - I have to select them every time I start playing a video.

If the cursor doesn't hide after the set delay in fullscreen mode, tap the 'F' key to exit fullscreen and tap it again to toggle back to fullscreen - the cursor will hide.

hi lotesdelere,
trying to run vlc with given comd line brings up this msg: "Windows cannot find 'vlc'. Make sure you typed.....and try again."
i have uploaded a sample (25 mb) on VideoLAN file uploader

OS: W7x64 VLC 2.0.3 twoflower i didn't get how to save log; tools > messages > set verbosity to 2 > then i click 'save as' or 'close'. when do i playback the concerned file? where do i get the log? also, i couldn't get a clip of the file using freemake video converter. sorry for my ignorance - thank...

i have many MKV format movies but some are not opening with VLC MP. an error msg: "vlc.exe has stopped working" comes and the player closes. the same file opens with FLVplayer.
