VLC has been trying to update from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 for me for a few weeks now. Every time I allow it to update, it downloads the patch then closes VLC. Known issue. Use installer if you want to change file associations.

This is still not fixed in 2.0.2
I would have thought it it was a known issue for almost two years it'd be fixed by now...
