So after 2 days, some moderator (who presumably knows a lot about VLC) has gone to the effort of reading this post and then moving it to a different forum, but hasn't bothered to encourage this offer of help or to share knowledge about chromecast... Is there anyone helpful who knows whether it's cor...

Chromecast support for Linux

I read that development versions of VLC support Chromecast on Windows (but not Linux). If this information is (still) accurate, what is the obstacle to getting it to work on Linux? If it needs someone to spend some time porting some code then I'm tempted to do some work on it.

iAlias: Actually you do - noone has to write this software for you for free. Yes its frustrating when things don't work perfectly, but THIS SOFTWARE IS FREE and made by volunteers! You insufferable little prick.

* Played a song in the media library * Restarted vlc -> opened in the playlist section with an empty playlist * clicked on the media library on the left -> Nothing's selected in the media library, the tree view is collapsed * Uncollapsed the folders to where I was before -> the file I was listening ...

Sorry to necro this thread but it still seems a relevant question as I don't really see how the media library substitutes for a playlist autosaving functionality as it doesn't seem to work as you imply. These are the steps I took: * I used the media library to browse to a song, pressed play and list...
