Hi Edward, As you requested, from time to time I will try new updates from the nightly archives and update you if anything changes. I would appreciate if you could bump this thread when you have completed your tests and have anything to report or have something specific you would like us to test. Re...
That extract was from my GoogleTV box. I simply installed the app, rebooted the Revue and tried to run VLC twice. I then ran aLogcat again and saved the logs. My Revue is also running unmodified production firmware.
Hi Tye, Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried it and appear to be able to access some relevant logs... I am planning to factory default my unit to make sure it is running properly. (My unit had issues during the firmware upgrade when the Logitech servers went offline.)
Hi FlippityWidget, Where in the world are you located? I am in Australia. We never had an official release of the Revue so I can't contact Logitech for support or to report these problems. If you are in the USA can you see how Logitech responds when you point out the problems to them. Regards, Ian.
Are any of you guys located in the USA? If so, perhaps you can contact Logitech support and see if you can get them to fix the Android build so that the appropriate information, like the build information, is correctly available for applications, like VLC, to use.
Hi Edward, I found another Logitech Revue owner and ran the SysInfo test on their unit. Their Revue was running Android 3.1. The results were comparable to my unit. The CPU values were the same. The VLC test builds failed in the same way as they failed on my unit. It looks like my unit is not broken...
Perhaps a direct approach to Logitech for the donation of a Revue for development purposes may get you your own unit for direct testing and development.
Are there any other Logitech Revue owners out there who can run the SysInfo tool and confirm their settings are comparable to my unit? I wonder if my unit is in some way faulty and that is why we are having issues getting code to run properly on my machine.
Hi Edward, This build doesn't appear to launch at all. Running the application appears to do nothing. No windows open, no messages are generated. In case it helps, here is a full SysInfo dump from my unit: # Build # ID=KA2X-20120518.141456 Product=ka Device=ka Board=unknown CPU ABI=none CPU ABI 2=un...
The image you provided installs okay but when run the following screen is presented:
"Sorry, but your device is currently not supported by this version of VLC for Android.
The error message is (please mention this when debugging):
x86 build on non-x86 device"
Are the builds going to be added to http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/ as something like "android-x86" when they are ready? If not, where can they be found?
Thank you so much for working on this for us Logitech Revue owners.
