Re: Adjust Playback speed to specific fps value

I have run into this problem as well.

Please give the complete path to making the playback rate change for 25 fps.

I opened all Preferences option and am confused.

A preset in Subtitles for reading text below the image

I have seen and will try to implement the VLC help instructions for creating the black border and lowering the the subtitle text to read more easily below the image. www.vlchelp.com/how-to-change-subtitle-position-in-vlc/ A preset to do this at the subtitle page setup would be most helpful and less ...

Re: Save Settings in VLC

FredNurk, Here is a link to the 7 step procedure to get things saved. It works fine for Dynamic Range Compression but while looking at the 7 steps, I could not get The EQ settings right from the helpful screen shots. I have been putting spaces in where none are needed but could not see how to make s...

Set parametric volume levels numerically; show syntax

The way that VLC handles saving settings is obscure. Yet I did manage to find help. By using this sequence of seven steps: http://www.stufinnis.co.uk/vlcequalizersave.html ... I was able to save my dynamaic Range Compression settings but failed to enter the values for parametric volume levels to sav...

Re: Save Settings in VLC

I have read this thread. It is still unclear how to save in Effects and Settings. My feature request for the second time is: add a few presets to the Dynamic Compression tab and a SAVE button on that screen. Why, for instance is there a save button on Equalizer but not Compression sliders within the...

Re: Req: a preset in the setup of the Compressor feature

This is another (uncredited that I pasted into a saved mail) I use the VLC player for videos because I find it convenient, yet a dynamic volume plugin seems not to be available for this player. There is not such an option in VLC itself. However, you can make a few very easy adjustments to achieve al...

Re: Req: a preset in the setup of the Compressor feature

Alf, I will look up what I have found on this. The long detailed piece on how compression andnormalization works came from a discussion on Reddit. Also on VLC here are some starters: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=91355 I will have to look up others. Also I noticed that once set, ...

Req: a preset in the setup of the Compressor feature

There is information out there on settings for the Compressor feature which are confusing. The main reason to use the Compressor setting is to control loud sounds ans soft sounds to listen at the same volume. In other words the user does not have constantly fiddle up and down on volume control in th...

Eliminate file associations in VLC

Too many file associations in the new VLC 2.0.4. I had a time of it just trying to delete everything it attaches to after I had selected no file associations on a reinstall. However, a helpful site had a work around for this intrusion. The suggestion was to install the VLC Portable version. Portable...

Drag and drop VLC features: the time balloon

Is there an improved drag and drop for features in v. 2.04? I know I have made some screw ups in getting elapsed time to display and more importantly to get rid of the numeric time index balloon which is a distraction when mousing around during playback. Please say how to turn that off.

Re: After I adjust hue and contrast, how do I save the file?

Part of the answer seems to be here: http://wiki.videolan.org/Change_the_brightness_or_contrast_of_a_video see page bottom where they talk about using Control S. I went to the hue and brightness adjust and made a brightness change. Then I hit control S and a new window opens. I think it wants you to...

Request: Some sample Compressor settings for VLC

For those new to this: Compression settings can be found in two ways (even this is duplication and somewhat complex: Start > VLC > Tools : Effects and Filters > Compressor tab ...

Re: Audio Normalization Answered

I hope others respond to this since I've had on mostly old movies -- black and white ones from the 40's and 50's where this was much less of an issue unless someone botched the AVI or MKV to begin with. I am using the current version (8-30-12) of 2.02 -- one of the few progs. whose updates I accept ...

Keeping this thread going I think I have the hang of it now. But raising the volume to 200% default will blast you out at restart. Also I find that any bright colors on the player window such that which displays if 200% is used is distracting. I don't like the time index bubble on the new version fo...

Can't find standard 'modern' time toolbar in 2.02 setup
