6. Marquee text for all menus and browsing methods, some filenames are too long for the screen, so the name gets cut off, marquee text will be benificial to correct this.

There should be an option in preferences to change this.

Just as a side note, VLC comes with its own built-in equalizer.

But yes, we use the system AudioTrack output.

You should use a file manager app like OI File Manager for this purpose.

Are you using hardware acceleration? Try and see if it crashes if you disable it. Some devices are known for poor/unstable hardware decoding, unfortunately.

If you feel like doing a hack, you can recompile VLC with a flag (I think) to disable the certificate check.

Android OS version?

On 4.0+ you can press the X button in the top right corner to stop VLC, or use the stop button on the widget.
