Hi, I'm having the same problem on Arch Linux. VLC 2.0.1. Description is exactly as above. If I hit the "eject" button, a media browser opens, but shows nothing and can't be navigated. Hoping for some help.

This is fixed in VLC 2.0.2, so use VLC 2.0.2 or later.
