Long click the video and select "Information". It will display the path of the video on the filesystem.

Otherwise you might try to uncomment MediaPlayerBuffering and modify the JNI to track this event.

Please update to the latest version. The newest versions should recursively scan all directories. E.g. if you have /sdcard/Music/a and /sdcard/Music/b, checking off /sdcard/Music will scan both of those (and any subdirectories too).

It's not exposed in the GUI, but it is supported.

Then perhaps your firmware is buggy.

Something like https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2865484 should be representative of connecting to a screen.

Once it is connected VLC should detect and handle this automatically (if enabled in preferences).

This exact build works fine on my x86 Android.

IIRC MediaCodec full hardware acceleration requires a recent version of Android to work.

Videos seem to be permanently deleted if I delete them from the video browser. Perhaps something is set to read-only, or there is an issue with device permissions?

Perhaps this might be a bug in the graphics driver of your tablet.

You can install it after enabling unknown sources.

Tested again with the latest nightlies on an x86 Android with CPU API=x86 and CPU_ABI2=armeabi-v7a and it works fine.

Could you please run Sysinfo for Android, go to 'Build' and type in the contents of the "CPU ABI" and "CPU ABI2" fields?

I just tested it on an x86 Android with the latest nightlies and it is able to run fine.

If you mean using the computer as a bluetooth controller, it should work if the Android OS can connect properly. VLC requires the Android system to have set up a stable connection to use it.

What do you mean by "blocked"?
