I finally found out how to record my screen which is better than nothing, but when I click to start the recording I get an immediate crash. I have even uninstalled and re installed VLC and the same thing. I have W7 64 bit. How do I fix this?

For the life of me I can't find how to obtain a stream url so I can play the stream to record it. I have url snooper and nothing it gives me will open a stream. I get nothing or an error. How do I find a stream url? Also, how do I determine if a stream cannot be accessed or recorded? Thanks.
