Re: x64 version?

this issue.
Which issue, what is the problem, how is the 32bit build not working in a fashion that you would expect a 64bit build to do better?
What do you presume a 64bit build will give you?

Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

My bet is your custom skinning engine (windowsblinds? stylexp?,...) is causing a mess.

Re: Xvidcore.dll not found

Sounds like explorer trying to create thumbnails, but failing due to a codec problem (probably a botched uninstall of xvid).

Yup, here too, though only when the video is embedded in the interface.

Re: Choppy Sound

You have reached the download-limit for free-users. Want to download more? [EDIT] Just for the heck of it, I've done a complete uninstall/clean/reinstall of VLC (uninstall, delete all folders/..., clean registry), and it appears to have solved the problem. Something must've gotten garbled with an u...

Re: Choppy Sound

Sample to be found here (1min, ~9MiB): http://users.telenet.be/marcswinnen/mp2sample.mpg

The files play fine in VirtualDub and Windows Media Player too, if that matters.

I'll see whether I can cut a section from one of these files and upload it somewhere.

Re: Choppy Sound

I'm having similar problems with MP2 audio in MPEG files. The audio pops, clicks and chops or completely cuts out regularly when playing the MPEG. After demuxing the audio with DGIndex, VLC can play the MP2 audio on it's own perfectly fine.

Re: VLC media player and Windows Vista

Check your video driver preferences, most specifically, overlay settings. It's possible the driver is adjusting the brightness for overlay video.

Re: Forum upgrade to phpbb3

Ah, I changed the url in the server settings but not in the cookie settings after runing the conversion. Should be fine now. Thanks for the help.
No problem, glad it works now (which it does :D).

Re: Forum upgrade to phpbb3

Any solution to the cookies issue? I have that one, too. I always have to relogin if I follow a link to the forum that does not contain my sid, kinda annoying :/ Well it could be a board settings issue. I've done come checking on the phpbb forums and found a possibly useful post in a thread on this...

Re: Forum upgrade to phpbb3

New look is cool. But, sadly, this is a bug report. OS X 10.4.8, Safari 2.0.4: site doesn't remember me despite selecting that option at login. It sets four cookies - style_cookie, phpbb3_8rlha_k, phpbb3_8rlha_u and phpbb3_8rlha_sid. Same problem here on Vista x64 with Opera 9.21, and here it's onl...

What sort of CPU are you using? If it has demand based throttling (Speedstep, Cool&Quiet,..), the cpu% figure could be overstated because the cpu may be running at a lower clockspeed than maximum. On my system, the reported cpu% for VLC when the rest of the system is loaded is 3 times as high as...

Found a problem outputting 2+ channel AC3 audio to stereo setup in Vista x64, WMP does fine and the problem doesn't present itself on XP. I'm going to do some further testing and will try to get as much useful data as possible. I'll post back as soon as I can. I've just discovered my problems were ...

I've just discovered my problems were not caused by speaker-setup, but by the Volume Normalisation filter (either active by default from preferences, of enabled via the Extended GUI). Pretty annoying actually because I use it pretty much all the time :/. Oh well time for a seperate thread I suppose ...

Hmm, I'd say that's even stranger... When the file is playing in the VLC menu -> Audio -> Audio Devices. The obvious choice would be A/52 or 5.1 or however it will be called, I'd say try out the different options if needed. If nothing else, at least we might get some more useful datapoints to try an...

In VLC I only have the choice between Mono and Stereo device, and the Mono won't even play the voice (I'm guessing center channel?) with headphone virtualisation on. [EDIT] Just for the heck of it, in Windows speaker setup, although it's set up as stereo, when I press Test for the 5.1 device, it rep...

Yeah, I've got the same problem with a number of AC3 files, speakers are definitly configured as stereo.
A temporary workaround can be to enable "headphone virtualisation", though it messes up the dynamic of the stream somewhat.

I'm getting all kind of weird stuff on Vista on that matter. Monitor standy would sometimes get disabled when running, but not re-enabled afterwards, the screensaver stays off when running windowed but not when fullscreen. On occasion it all works perfectly the way it should, but mostly, it doesn't....
